CasesHey Guys!

As promised I have started to update the page ”A UK VISA” with our story on how we came to live and work in the UK.

This will detail not only our own experience, but also provide you with some useful information, guidance, and resources on how you too can settle here!

I hope you continue to find this blog informative, and please also share your thoughts, comments and questions at the bottom of the relevant page!

2014 Update

Firstly – Happy New Year to all my visitors! It’s great to see that this blog still gets a lot of interest and has been able to help some people. I was excited to see its had over 10,000 hits since launching it!

I know that I haven’t been around for a while, so I thought I would share a little update.

Paulo and I have been together now for 4 years now, and in the UK for 2. He acquired his UK Visa in June 2012, so we are now looking to apply for our renewal which we give him ‘Indefinite leave to remain.’

After first moving to the UK we lived in Braintree for 1 1/2 years, which although being a small city, we loved! Since July of last year we have been living near Watford, London. We moved this way due to my new job (Which I’ve since left,) and are enjoying being closer to London!

The plan is to update this blog with information of our UK visa application soon. We are visiting Brasil soon which I’m excited about too!

All the best for 2014

Applying For Paulo’s UK Visa…

Hi All!

Just to let you know, Paulo has now applied for his UK Visa in Brazil. I am extremely busy with work at the moment but I shall be looking to document our process between now and next week, bit by bit, so watch this space!

Changes Like the Wind!

2 months later, and here I am again.

This time, I assure you what I’m about to write is the correct information….WE ARE APPLYING FOR PAULO’s UK VISA!

We have decided not to go back to Brazil and to stay here and try and apply for residency here instead…..

I now have a full time job, and am renting an apartment near to my place of work. Of course this mean’s that I am contracted to stay at the apartment, hence – Our plans can no longer change!

I will update (if time from work permits lol) our process šŸ˜€

Apology, Thanks & Action

Good Day Readers!

I would like to apologise for my miss-written post ‘Sad News.’ This has now been amended. The previous post was a description of what i thought a letter said I hadĀ receivedĀ and not what was actually written. After re-reading I have edited ‘Sad News’ to give you an accurate description. Apologies to all those who read the previous post.

The thank you goes out to Ryohei for making me see my mistake, and also giving meĀ furtherĀ advice in this situation!

We are actioning our doubts in a form of an Email to Brasillia asking about the following –

  • My protocall visa expires on June 10th 2011. We can’t give the documents required, so my application will be archived. What does this mean about my Visa. Will it be extended?
  • If it wont, how long do I have to leave the country?
  • Me and my partner work on Cruise ships. IF now the application is archived, and I am out of the country for more than 3 months (protocall restrictions) on returning, will we have to re-submit, or can we still continue from theĀ achievedĀ submission.
Thats what’s on our mind right now, I’ll let you know what we send and what we recieve!
Sorry, Thanks, And I’ll keep you posted!

Flying To/From Brazil

Isn’t Traveling to and from Brazil Expensive? I’ve paid over Ā£1000 return once…Scandalous!

I wanted to share a couple of sites with you which i have found however to be a good source when looking for a cheap-o flight!

http://www.skyscanner.net is my favorite! This gives your the option to look for flights for the whole month, or, the whole year, or even, select dates. This way if your flexible you can find the best deal, and if your pretty set with your dates, it even offers you ways to get a cheaper flight by suggesting other dates or departure airports!

All my flights have been booked through http://www.opodo.co.uk for no other reason than they were the best priced!

REMEMBER – If flying one-way, it’s sometimes cheaper to buy a return!
